The most collectable was the “396″ 402 cid 375 bhp engine, of which only about 270 were built, sales code L78 375 bhp code JH, KL, JL, KC, JJ, JM, KE, and sales code L89 375 bhp (very under rated) engine code JH, KL, JL, KC, JJ, JM, KE. The various engine codes indicated the performance level and what type of transmission came with the car. The code came after the engine serial number on a pad located on front right hand side of clinder block.
